In Steel Mills, Skinner turbines can be used in the steel making process if there is steam that needs to be pressure reduced. This helps to drive any equipment that may make the process more efficient. Our turbines can range from 5 HP to 3000 HP depending on the conditions in your mill to ensure success.

Mechanical Drive Turbines

Our turbines are well suited as prime movers for driving boiler feedwater pumps, forced or induced-draft fans, blowers, compressors and other rotating equipment. Skinner turbines are inherently rugged and reliable low-maintenance devices. They are easy to control and offer enclosed, non-sparking operation suitable for use in explosive atmospheres or highly corrosive environments. Our turbines provide fast, reliable starting capability and are particularly adaptable for direct connection to equipment that rotates at high speeds. Turbine drives may be installed for continuous duty under severe operating conditions, or used for load shaping (e.g. demand limiting), standby, or emergency service.
